Coming from Dumfries and all points east, bypass Castle Douglas on the A75 and at the third roundabout signposted for Castle Douglas (i.e. the one AFTER the A713 to Ayr) leave the bypass on the B736 heading back to Castle Douglas.  After half a mile, just before coming to Carlingwark Loch and the town, turn off to the right.

From the west on the A75 (Stranraer / Gatehouse etc.) take the first signpost to Castle Douglas (B736) and after half a mile, just before coming to Carlingwark Loch and the town, turn off to the right.
