THE SOLWAY SINFONIA
last update August, 2008

Welcome to the Solway Sinfonia website.  This is intended to be a forum to disseminate information about our orchestra for both our members and any other interested parties.  Please see the news page for current information.

The Solway Sinfonia is a non profit making orchestra based in the southwest of Scotland, drawing musicians of a certain standard from Dumfries & Galloway and surrounding areas (Cumbria, Ayrshire and the Borders).  Although an amateur orchestra, many of its members have made their career in music and the aim is to attain a standard of musicianship such that the concerts are a pleasure for all - musicians and audience alike.  Our conductor is Geoff Keating.

Our logo is that of a swan in recognition of  our origins in an ad hoc orchestra brought together by Sarah Berker in 1997 to perform a concert to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Caerlaverock National Nature Reserve.

If you might be interested in becoming a Patron or Sponsor of the Solway Sinfonia, please read this page.

If you have any comments or questions, please contact us.  In particular, if you are a musician of a certain standard and may be interested in joining our ranks, please get in touch.
