Welcome to the Solway Sinfonia website.  This is a forum to disseminate information about our orchestra for both our members and any other interested parties.  Please see the news page for current information.  Click here to see a list of all music played by the Solway Sinfonia over the years.

The Solway Sinfonia is a non profit making orchestra based in the southwest of Scotland, drawing musicians of a certain standard from Dumfries & Galloway and surrounding areas (Cumbria, Ayrshire and the Borders).  Although an amateur orchestra, many of its members have made their career in music and the aim is to attain a standard of musicianship such that the concerts are a pleasure for all - musicians and audience alike.  Our conductor is Geoff Keating.

The Solway Sinfonia is supported by our generous patrons and sponsors.

Prior to the current financial squeeze, we used to be supported by:

Our logo is that of a swan in recognition of our origins in an ad hoc orchestra brought together by Sarah Berker in 1997 to perform a concert to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Caerlaverock National Nature Reserve.

If you might be interested in becoming a Patron or Sponsor of the Solway Sinfonia, please read this page.

If you have any comments or questions, please contact us.  In particular, if you are a musician of a certain standard and may be interested in joining our ranks, please get in touch.
